Intensity

The following material was written in January,2011.
Intensity. Important....but isn't supreme in itself. Just like too much of something is not.

'Hypocrisy at its best'. They say I smoke too much. I say, 'I`ll take that as a compliment'. Instead of extinguishing it, it only adds fuel to the fire. Imagine being bad all the time, even sympathizers would get tired, trying 'taming of the shrew'.

You know, right nowالحمدللہ , everything is stable. Yeah I`m being honest, or am I taking things too lightly? Oh, my concious, what would I ever do without you?
"When everything's going right, there must be something wrong."
Nah, I`m the worst when it comes to being a pessimist. I despise them, even dismiss them, but never miss them. I`ve seen a lotta bullet points in 4 years of Iqra LRs. Its about time a bullet points at me with my name on it.
Am I ready?
Hell to the NO.

But somethings gotta give. And somebody's gotta take. That somebody's me.

Its amazing how your mentality, physicality, and spirituality (to an extent) changes when you do that. You are the same person throughout your life. What keeps on changing is your personality.
"Personality is 50% what you think of yourself and 50% of what others think of you."
Well said. Even Islam is two-thirds concerned about and promotion of taking care of people.

The biggest misconception people have about taking care of each other is 'going the extra mile'. That's empathetic, not necessary. Remember the difference between a need and a want? Everyone have basic needs; food, shelter, clothes etc. Who provides it? God. Who should deliver it? Parents, family, self-sufficiency and welfare. Who should ensure it? The Government. Umar the Caliph wasn't loosing it when he used to roam around during the night monitoring his people.

Once that is satisfied (to an extent), comes social needs.
When you meet anyone, imagine they are wearing a sign, 'make me feel important'.
You think I`m too secular? Islam says even smiling at your parents is an act of worship. What did شاہ جی mean when he said:

جے تو رب نو منانا، پیلے یار نو منا

Make people happy, Make God happy, make yourself happy. Make the world a better place to live in.
